CA Course Duration after 12th

After completing class 12th, you become eligible to sit in the CA Foundation exams. Students have to undergo a study period of 4 months. After clearing the CA Foundation exams, you can apply for the CA Intermediate exams and have to study for 8 months.

When you clear any single group of CA Intermediate, you can apply for the CA articleship training. The CA articleship training is for 3 years. Upon completing the articleship, students get a study period of 6 months for the CA Final exams. As you clear both groups of CA Final exams, you become a CA.

So, it will take 5 years to become a CA after 12th.

To complete the CA Course in five years, you’ll need to crack all the levels in the first attempt. Because each number of attempts will increase your six months in this journey.

Chartered Accountancy Course Duration After 10th

Now, students can also start their journey just after class 10th by taking provisional admission in the CA Foundation course. However, they can give their exams, only after they have cleared their class 12th. So, a class 10th student will take 7 years to complete the Chartered Accountancy course.

The journey is the same as doing CA after 12th, just 2 years are added for the 11th and 12th classes.


CA Course Duration After Graduation

The CA Course duration after graduation is 4.5 years. Students who are graduated can directly apply for the CA Intermediate Course. They don’t have to pass the CA Foundation exams.

During this period, they have to undergo the 1-month training, 3 years of articleship training, and the study period for CA Intermediate and Final exams.

Although 4.5 years is the minimum duration, every attempt increases your six months.

Duration of CA Course After Intermediate Level of ICSI/ICWA

Students who have cleared the Intermediate Level of ICSI or ICWA can directly register for the CA Intermediate course without appearing in the CA Foundation exam. They have to undergo a study period of eight months after registration to appear in CA Intermediate Examination. Thereafter, all the procedures for such Direct Entry Route students will be the same as normal route students.

Hence, the duration of the CA Course after clearing Intermediate levels of ICSI or ICWA can be estimated as 4.5 years.

The post-graduate students who have completed their MBA will take a minimum of 4.5 years to complete the CA Course. After completing your post-graduation degree, you can directly enrol for the CA Intermediate Course.

Chartered Accountancy Course Duration at Each Level

CA Foundation Course Duration

CA Foundation Course is the entry-level test to pursue the Chartered Accountancy course. Students after clearing their 12th can register for the CA Foundation exams. After registration, they have to undergo a four months study period to appear in the CA Foundation Exam. After giving the exams, you will get your CA Foundation result after 2 months from the day your exams get over. So, you’ll need 6 months to complete the CA Foundation course.

CA Intermediate Course Duration

After clearing the CA Foundation exams, students have to register for the CA Intermediate Course. Once the registration has been done, a candidate has to undergo a study period of eight months to appear in the CA Intermediate Exam. ICAI releases the CA Intermediate result within 2 months of the last exam date. Therefore, the CA Intermediate course duration is 10 months.

ICITSS

As your CA Intermediate exams are over, you can enrol for the ICITSS training. You have to undergo 100 hours of Information technology and one week of an Orientation program to complete this training. Students can complete such training while waiting for the CA Intermediate result.

CA Articleship Training

The duration of the CA Articleship training is 3 years which is mandatory for each CA aspirant. Students become eligible to register for Articleship training once they passed either single or both groups of the CA Intermediate.

AICITSS

AICITSS is an Advance Information Technology and Management and Communication Skills Program. Students can undergo this program while pursuing their last two years of Articleship Training.

CA Final Course Duration

Students have to clear both the groups of the CA Intermediate, to register for the CA Final Course. One can appear in the CA Final Exam while completing their last six months of Articleship training.

You will become a Chartered Accountant once you cleared both the groups of CA Final and have completed your three years of Articleship Training.
