Students who want to register for the CA Intermediate 2024 exams must fulfil the eligibility criteria. The following CA Intermediate eligibility criteria are the minimum requirements set by the ICAI for Intermediate registration. They include the candidate’s qualifications, marks, and cut-off dates.

CA Intermediate eligibility is different for students taking the CA Foundation exams or graduate students who want to enrol directly at the Intermediate level.

CA Intermediate Eligibility Criteria for September 2024 Registration

The eligibility criteria to register for the CA Intermediate 2024 exams are as follows:

1. Through Foundation Route:

Students who have cleared the CA Foundation exams are eligible to register for the CA Intermediate course.

2. Through Direct entry route:

  • Graduates/ Post Graduate in Commerce who have secured a minimum of 55% can register directly for Intermediate.
  • Non-commerce Graduates/Postgraduates can also register for Intermediate by securing 60% marks in Graduation/Postgraduate.
  • Students who cleared the Intermediate level of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India or The Institute of Company Secretaries of India.

The above students can register directly for the Intermediate level without passing the entrance level.

Last Date to Register for CA Intermediate

Students must complete the registration form before the last date to be eligible to register for the 2024 exams. The table below mentions the last registration date for the 2024 exams.

Students enrolling for the CA Intermediate course must check the latest CA new scheme 2024 by ICAI. In this new scheme, ICAI has made several amendments at the Intermediate level and CA exams.

CA Intermediate Registration Procedure 2024

Students who have fulfilled the eligibility criteria can register for the 2024 exams. The procedure to register for the exams is as follows:

  • Log in to the self-service portal of ICAI.
  • Select the student cycle. Choose from a Foundation or Direct entry route.
  • Fill in the details and upload the required documents. Then, click on “Save & Next”.
  • Upload your Photo/ Signature.
  • Click on Generate OTP. You will receive the OTP on your registered number, or the ICAI will send a verification link to your email ID.
  • Submit the OTP and pay the fees.

Students appearing in the Intermediate examinations through the Foundation route are required to undergo an 8-month study period after registering for the Intermediate Course. After registering for the course, students must fill out the CA Inter exam form. Only those students who have done so will receive the CA Inter May 2024 admit card.


Provision Registration for the 3rd Year Students

Candidates in the last year of their graduation are also eligible to register for the Intermediate course on a Provisional basis.

However, they can commence practical training only after submitting proof that they have passed their graduation with the specified percentage discussed above.

During this provisional registration period, they can complete ITT (Information Technology) and O.P (Orientation Programme).

However, if they fail to produce such evidence, their provisional registration will be cancelled, and fees will neither be refunded nor adjusted.

In addition to this, if he has undergone a theoretical Educational Programme, then no credit shall be given for such.

For graduate students/postgraduate students taking direct entry into the CA Course, ITT and OP training must be completed before the commencement of practical training.

In order to appear in the Intermediate examination, they need to successfully complete nine months of practical training.

    To apply for CA intermediate exams after class 12th, candidates have to first apply for the CA Foundation course and have to clear the exams. After completion of the CA foundation exam only, candidates can apply for the ca intermediate exams.
