ICAI News – The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India has extended the last date for submitting the MEF Form 2026 for the year 2026-27. Chartered Accountants & eligible applicants can now submit the Multipurpose Empanelment Form until September 9th, 2026.
Earlier, the last date for online submission of MEF Form 2026 was August 29, 2026. ICAI’s Professional Development Committee announced the extension on August 28th to give members adequate time to complete & submit their forms.
MEF Form 2026 New Last Date
The revised MEF 2026-27 last date is September 9th, 2026. ICAI has clearly stated that there will be no further extension after this date.
According to ICAI, the Professional Development Committee has to submit the Bank Branch Auditors’ Panel to the Reserve Bank of India within the prescribed time. Therefore, members planning to complete the ICAI MEF Form 2026 should not wait until the last day.
Where to Submit MEF Form 2026?
The Multipurpose Empanelment Form 2026-27 is available online on the official MEF ICAI portal at meficai.org.
Members who have already registered for MEF in previous years can log in using their existing credentials. Applicants who have forgotten their password can use the “Forgot Password” option.
Members applying for MEF for the first time need to complete their registration on the MEF portal before submitting the form.
ICAI has also advised applicants to carefully read the official MEF 2026-27 Advisory before filling out & submitting the application.
Why is MEF 2026-27 Important?
Information submitted through the MEF Form 2026 is shared by ICAI with authorities such as the RBI, NABARD, CRCS and other concerned organisations for empanelment and allocation of professional work.
Applicants facing any problem or having questions related to MEF registration, MEF login, MEF application or MEF Form 2026 submission can use the “MEF Complaints Portal” available on the official MEF website.
CA members should complete their application well before September 9, 2026, as ICAI has confirmed that this is the final deadline for MEF 2026-27 submission.
