These exams were scheduled to be held from May 9 to 14. The revised dates will be announced in “due course”, ICAI said while announcing the postponement of the exams.

New Delhi, May 9, 2025 — In light of the current tense and uncertain security situation in the country, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has officially postponed the remaining examination papers of May 2025 CA exams. This comprises CA Final, Intermediate, and Post Qualification courses such as International Taxation Assessment Test (INTT AT) which were scheduled initially between May 9, 2025, and May 14, 2025.

In a notice issued under No. 13-CA (EXAM)/2025/II, the Institute has provided the reason for this sudden move as the unstable and volatile security environment in the country. This notice is a partial amendment of a previous notice issued on January 13, 2025.

The ICAI has also updated students that new examination dates will be intimated subsequently. The students are advised to log in to ICAI official website — www.icai.org — periodically and comply with further directions and instructions as released.

Though the CA exam postponement announcement has indeed upset the study plans of many students, ICAI has assured candidates that their safety and well-being are the topmost priority. The postponement gives students some extra time to readjust their study timetables and remain ready while waiting for further news on the new exam dates.

While the situation keeps changing, ICAI is keen on ensuring that the exam process picks up as usual once the security situation picks up, where candidates can write their exams safely and securely.
