What is ICAI Permanent Exemption?
ICAI permanent exemption is a facility given to students who have already secured 60 marks or more in a subject in earlier attempts & meet ICAI’s eligibility rules. Once granted, the exemption remains valid permanently & does not lapse in future attempts, provided the student follows ICAI guidelines.
This exemption helps students reduce exam load & focus better on remaining papers, making preparation more targeted and effective.

Students appearing for:
- CA Intermediate May 2026
- CA Final May 2026
can apply for permanent exemption if they have already qualified the required criteria set by ICAI. The exemption applies only to eligible subjects & must be claimed within the notified window.
