The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), through its Board of Studies (BOS), has rolled out a special scholarship scheme for students registering for the CA Foundation course.
Aimed at financially needy candidates, this scheme helps ease the cost of pursuing the Chartered Accountancy course right from the start. Unlike merit-based schemes, this CA Foundation scholarship is purely need-based and is not linked to exam ranks or performance. Eligible students from economically weaker backgrounds can now apply and receive financial assistance for the first four months following their registration in the CA Foundation course.
Applications can be submitted online at ICAI’s Self Service Portal (SSP): https://eservices.icai.org. To apply, students must upload a valid income certificate and obtain a recommendation letter from any Chartered Accountant (since articleship does not apply at the Foundation level).
Once approved, the scholarship amount will be credited directly to the student’s bank account. Applicants must ensure their bank account number and IFSC code are correctly entered in the portal.
This initiative by ICAI is a step towards promoting inclusivity and making the CA course more accessible to students from all economic backgrounds.
