The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has announced that its Self-Paced Online Module Test (SPMT) portal will remain unavailable from August 11 to August 20, 2025, since its software will be going through planned upgradation and maintenance.
This temporary halting of services means that the students will not be able to appear for any SPMT tests in this time frame. The Institute has asked the candidates to keep these dates in mind and prepare themselves accordingly.
In its press release, ICAI has informed that slot booking for the SPMT exams will again open from August 21, 2025. Candidates who have scheduled to book their test slots during the offline time are asked to wait for the portal to come online.
The SPMT portal is an integral part of ICAI’s new curriculum and allows students to study some of the modules independently. The technology of the future is sure to make the portal more efficient, stable, and user-friendly.
ICAI has confirmed that already booked dates after August 20 would be respected. Nothing is required from the students other than the fact that they were scheduled to sit during the maintenance period.
The students would also receive more notifications on the ICAI official website or the SPMT portal. These enhancements are part of the Institute’s overall effort to make the CA learning process more technology-based and flexible.
